Roaming bears.

Just as a point of interest the neighborhood in which I reside is probably the safest spot of turf in the city...even with an institute for future young felon's within our neighborly confine. And the reason for this guarantee is directly attributed to a gift from Mother Nature...the Black Bear.
Last year, in 2009, we had a half dozen or so Black Bears of all sizes with one particular sow weighing at least 600lbs and she was the easiest going of any of them. She would actually eat an apple right out of your hand. But nobody else knew this other than Oriana, my common law wife. These bears roamed everywhere throughout the neighborhood and never bothered anyone but, the "group home" trouble makers didn't know the bears were harmless...perfect.
In actuality the bears have kept our roads and streets safe in as to say that trouble makers didn't want trouble with any bears so they didn't hang out or walk the roads around the neighborhood for fear of being bear bait. AND we are in luck again because the bears are out now and looking for the compost pile. The first deposit by a Black Bear was a dung pile belonging to what would appear to be a young adult 3-4 years of age.
The advantages of nature in your back yard. What a perfect security system...roaming bears.
